Discover one of Rwanda's finest coffee-producing regions through a journey across the sparkling waters of Lake Kivu. The Kinunu (Boneza) Coffee Experience Tour combines scenic boating, coffee heritage, cultural interaction and authentic local cuisine.

After a safety orientation you board a comfortable motorboat for an approximately 1.5-hour crossing, with views of the lake's islands, rolling green hills, fishing villages and birdlife.

In Kinunu you are welcomed by the local coffee community. A guided walk through lush plantation explains how coffee is cultivated, cared for and harvested, and the sustainable practices that have made Kinunu coffee famous.

At the coffee washing and processing station you observe how cherries are sorted, pulped, fermented, washed, dried and prepared for export — then taste freshly brewed Kinunu coffee, learning to appreciate its aroma and flavour.

A traditional lunch prepared with fresh local ingredients follows, before the afternoon return cruise to Karongi.
