A guide to the islands: Amahoro, Napoleon and Mafundungu
Three islands, three very different mornings. Which one to choose depends on how much walking you want to do and what you want to see at the top.

Most visitors ask which island to go to as though there were a single answer. There is not — they are genuinely different days out.
Amahoro
The closest and the gentlest. A short crossing, a flat walk and a swimming spot on the far side.
Napoleon
The steep one, named for its shape. The climb takes about forty minutes and the fruit bat colony at the summit is the reason people do it.
Mafundungu
The quiet one, further out, and the best of the three if you want a morning with nobody else on it.
